    How do I apply for a Kosovo visa?

    To submit your visa application, you need to personally show up at the respective Diplomatic or Consular Mission of the Republic of Kosovo unless you are:

    • Invited by the state institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and other international institutions for official purposes
    • A person with special needs who cannot submit applications in person (documents proving the disability should be attached)
    • A person known to the diplomatic or consular mission for their integrity and credibility.

  • 12.

    What documents do I need to submit in order to get a Kosovo visa?

    Your visa application should include the following:

    • A completed and signed application form. Persons included in the applicant’s travel document shall submit a separate application form. Minors shall submit an application form signed by a person exercising permanent or temporary parental authority or legal guardianship;
    • A copy of your travel document. Its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. It shall contain at least two blank pages;
    • A recent (not older than 1 month) photograph in accordance with the international standards as set out in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) document 9303 Part 1, 6th edition;

    Supporting documents:

    • documents indicating the purpose of the journey;
    • documents in relation to accommodation, or proof of sufficient means to cover his/her accommodation;
    • documents indicating that the applicant possesses sufficient means of subsistence both for the duration of the intended stay and for the return to his country of origin or residence, or for the transit to a third country into which he is certain to be admitted, or that he is in a position to acquire such means lawfully;
    • Information enabling an assessment of the applicant’s intention to leave the territory of the Republic of Kosovo before the expiry of the visa applied for;
    • Travel medical insurance valid throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo which covers the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit;
    • Applicants shall pay a visa fee of EUR 40 unless they are holders of diplomatic and official passports; children nder six (6) years old; or school children, students and teachers accompanying and visiting for studying or training purposes
      Note: For bank details please check with the Diplomatic or Consular Mission.

    Important Information:

    • The Consular Officer may request from the applicant additional supporting documents;
    • All supporting documents should be translated in one of the Kosovo’s official languages (Albanian or Serbian) or in English;
    • All the documents must be submitted in two copies;
    • Only possessing a valid visa does not automatically guarantee entry in Kosovo.

    Do I need to pay a Kosovo visa fee and how much does it cost?

    Kosovo visa fee costs 40 EUR. In order to get a Kosovo visa, all applicants need to pay the visa fee unless they are:

    • Holders of diplomatic and official passports
    • Children under six (6) years old
    • School children, students and teachers accompanying them and visiting for studying or training purposes.

    With a Kosovo visa you can enter, transit, or stay in Kosovo only.

    How long can I stay in Kosovo with a Kosovo visa?

    With a Kosovo visa you can stay for a maximum of 90 days within a period of 6 months.

    My passport will expire in two months. Am I still eligible to apply for a Kosovo visa?

    To apply for a Kosovo visa, your passport should be valid for at least three months from the intended day of leaving Kosovo.

    The applicant can file a complaint within 8 calendar days from the notification day to the respective Diplomatic or Consular Mission where initially applied. The complaint should be filed through an official letter, not through e-mail.

    How long does it take to receive an answer on Kosovo visa application?

    It may take up to 1 month to receive an answer on the visa application.

    Can I work in Kosovo with a long-term Kosovo visa?

    If you wish to work in Kosovo, you need to apply for a Residence Permit at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kosovo.

  • 25.

    Can I live in Kosovo with a long-term Kosovo visa?

    If you wish to stay longer than your visa expiration date, you need to apply for a Residence Permit at the the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kosovo.
